Festivals in Uzbekistan are bright, fun and memorable, accompanied by folk songs, theatrical performances, demonstration of the culture and traditions of the Uzbek people.
The folklore festival “Boysun Bahori” or “Boysun Spring” of the international level is held once every four years in the Surkhandarya region in the city of Boysun. During this festival you will get acquainted with folk music, songs of the Uzbek people, with its centuries-old history. “Boysun Bahori” is accompanied by master classes, national games, concerts and Uzbek cuisine delicacies.
In Samarkand, one of the oldest cities in the world, every two years a large-scale festival of music, song and dance “Sharq taronalari”, which means “Melodies of the East”, is held. This event has been held since 1997. Registan Square welcomes musicians and performers from all over the world.
The annual international festival “Ipak va ziravorlar” or “Silk and spices” takes place in Bukhara. The festival includes a procession of guests in national costumes, plunging the participants into the world of an oriental fairy tale. During the festival you will find silk fabrics, jewelry and pottery, carpets, handicrafts, oriental spices and spices. The festival has been held since 2001.
In the Ichan-Kala fortress, in the city of Khiva, every September the festival “Raks sehri” is held, which means “magic of dance”.
