Samarkand

Samarkand is the second biggest in Uzbekistan and the most ancient cities in Central Asia, located at an altitude of abnout 720 meters above sea level.

It is one of the oldest cities in the world, according to archaelogical datas, in the middle of the 8th century BC(ancient Marakanda), the capital of Timurid state.

Samarkand was a key point on the Great Silk Road betwee Europe and China, as well as one of the main centers of science of the medieval East.
