Kazakhstan is undoubtedly one of the countries in Central Asia that hosts a large variety of festivals and cultural events. By taking part in them, you will be able to familiarize with the traditions and culture of the country and appreciate the hospitality of the Kazakh people. The inhabitants of Kazakhstan celebrate many holidays associated with the formation of the State. They are aimed to develop patriotism and love for the Motherland in the hearts of people. So, in honor of the Constitution Day (January 28), festive parades are held on the squares of Astana and Almaty. National Unity Day (May 1) is accompanied by street festivals that demonstrate the culture of the different nationalities living in the country. Every year at the end of June, the capital of Kazakhstan hosts the International Festival of Nomad Ethnic Culture Koshpendiler Alemi. Participants bring to life the history and traditions of this ancient civilization, so by visiting this colorful festival you can feel its spirit. At the beginning of summer, Almaty hosts a festival of contemporary ethnic music The Spirit of Tengri. This is a multicultural event aimed at demonstrating ethnic traditions in Kazakhstan. It brings together experienced musicians from all over the world. Thanks to its outdoor location, variety of contemporary ethnic music, high-quality sound and free entry, the Spirit of Tengri gathers a huge audience, enthusiastically meeting all the musicians on stage.

Another popular festival, Toikazan, welcomes all gourmets of the southern capital and its guests in Almaty. It takes place every October. Alakol Wings is a unique birdwatching festival in May. It takes place on the shore of Lake Alakol in the Almaty region. The world’s leading bird watchers come here to observe such rare birds as the pink flamingo, the Dalmatian pelican, the egret, and gray heron, the relic gull and others.
