The Burabay National Natural Park is located in the north of Kazakhstan in Akmola region.
It is under the protection of the Department of Affairs of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Any economic activity is prohibited in its protected areas.
The history of the park begins in 1898, when the forestry was created in Borovoye to protect its nature. In the 20s of the last century, it was nationalized and a resort of national importance was opened on its territory. Later, the State Reserve was organized in Borovoye, then it was transformed into the Borovoye forestry enterprise. Only in 2000 it received the status of the State National Natural Park called Barabay.
The fauna of the park is very diverse. There are 757 plant species on its territory, 12 of them are listed in the Red Book.
The fauna of the national park is also rich. There are about 305 species of animals. 13 species of them are protected and included in the Red Book. In the forests of Burabay one can find deer, wild boars, roe deer, ermines, pine martens, wolves and lynxes.
As for the birds, common goldeneye, gray duck, pintail, plover, lapwing, green sandpiper and many others nest here.
Beautiful nature, fresh air, curative waters, wonderful landscapes attract many tourists here.
