The Palace of Nikolai Konstantinovich Romanov – the grandson of the Russian Emperor Nicholas I, was built in 1891 in the center of Tashkent. The residence of Prince Romanov is a two-storey building built of baked brick in the style of “late modernism”.
The walls of the palace are decorated with decorative towers and carved lattices, and the interior lining is made of dark oak and decorated with golden paintings.
In 1918, after the death of Prince Romanov, his house was used for a long time as the Museum of Arts of Uzbekistan, later the palace housed the Museum of Antiques and jewelry art. Today, the palace is used as the Reception House of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan.
