In the new part of Tashkent, not far from the UzExpoCenter exhibition complex and the luxury International Hotel, there is one of the new attractions of Tashkent – the white mosque of the capital “Minor”. It was opened on October 1, 2014, on the Eve of the holy holiday of Muslims Kurban Hait, and immediately became one of the favorite places of residents of the city for evening walks.
The Minor Mosque is located on the embankment of the Ankhor Canal, and is surrounded by a landscaped area.
The construction of the mosque began in the summer of 2013, and was carried out in the best traditions of oriental architecture. At the same time, the Minor Mosque differs from the old brick mosques in its white marble decoration. On a clear day, it sparkles all over, and its blue dome seems to dissolve in the sky. The capacity is more than 2,400 people.
The new attraction has not yet become overgrown with legends and does not yet have a rich history, but once in Tashkent, you should not miss the chance to see the Minor Mosque in all its white marble glory.
