Lyabi House is one of the central squares of the city of Bukhara, an architectural ensemble created in the XVI — XVII centuries. It is the most popular and favorite tourist attraction of the city of Bukhara.
Literally, “Labi-House” translates as “the shore of the pool” or “by the pond”, since it was from here that the population of the city in the past centuries received fresh water extracted by local water carriers.
Here, magnificent architectural masterpieces are located on the same territory —Madrasah and Khanaka Nadir Divan-Begi and Kukeldash Madrasah.
In the Middle Ages, the Lyabi House was a market square where major trade deals were concluded. It was convenient to trade here, as this is one of the few places in Bukhara that have a sufficient amount of free space.
