Ungurtas is located in Zhambyl district, about 85 km from Almaty.
The name “Ungurtas” is translated from Kazakh language as a cave stone, but this place is also called “The Navel of the earth”.
It is believed that this mountain has a special energy and can cure people of diseases and fulfill desires. Tourists from all over the world and numerous pilgrims come here every year.
