Park named after the First President

The park named after the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan is located in Almaty in the Bostandyk district.

The park was opened in July 2011. It was named after the first president of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev. Various events such as festivals and sports marathons are often held here.

The planning of the park started in 2001. First of all, the construction of the main elements of the park began: a boulevard, alleys, dendrological areas. In case Almaty’s participation in the Olympic torch relay at the Olympic Games in Beijing, hundred spruces and birches were planted in the park. In 2001, the President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev himself planted an oak in the park.

In the upper part of the park, there is an observation platform located on a hill of approximately 12 meters high. The park is one of the favorite places for city dwellers.
