The Arch of Neutrality is one of the most iconic landmarks in Ashgabat, the capital of Turkmenistan. Completed in 2010, this impressive structure is a symbol of the country’s policy of neutrality.
Design and Structure of the Arch stands at 95 meters tall. The arch once prominently featured a rotating golden statue of Saparmurat Niyazov at its top, which turned to face the sun throughout the day, symbolizing his lasting influence on the nation.
The monument is constructed in a futuristic, tripod-like design, with three white marble legs representing the concept of neutrality and balance. It features a series of observation platforms that provide panoramic views of the city. The arch itself is made of white marble, a material that features prominently in Turkmen architecture, reflecting the country’s rich natural resources.
