The Sary Tash Village is located in one of the parts of the Alay valley. The height above sea level is 3 km 150 m. It lives here a little more than one and a half thousand inhabitants. The village is very close to the border zone with China and Tajikistan.
The village is well known to travellers and locals, as the Pamir highway runs through it. This is an extremely important route running between the city of Osh and the urban settlements of Dushanbe and Khorog.
In the vicinity of the village are two significant mountain passes Kyzyl Art and Taldyk.
Also, through Sary Tash, there is another road leading along the E60 route to the village of Irkeshtam.
