In the picturesque Jety Oguz valley, massive mountain peaks of Terskey Ala-Too rise in dense rows. The highest place in this chain of mountains is called the Oguz Bashi peak. Its height is quite impressive and is 5 km 168 m.
Only two other mountain peaks of Terskey Ala-Too exceed this local peak in terms of height. This is Karakol peak with a height of 5 km 281 m and Dzhigit peak with a height of 5 km 170 m.
Literally, the name of the peak is translated into Russian as “bull’s head”. This name is completely justified since Oguz Bashi is immediately crowned with a pair of peaks that look very much like the horns of a bull.
Oguz Bashi is considered one of the most magnificent places in Issyk Kul.
