This transshipment point rises 3 km 447 m relative to sea level. If you cross Kalmak Ashuu, you can find yourself on the northern coast of the local mountain Son Kul Lake.
Traveling through Kalmak Ashuu is possible only in the summer and autumn periods, starting in June and late October. In other months, it is swept by deep snows.
The nature of this area is amazing. Here, in a peaceful neighborhood, you can meet both stony, lifeless deserts and lush emerald meadows, rich in forbs. Majestic edelweisses grow on this territory.
