On the northern slope of the Turkestan Range located Ai Kul Lake, which means “moon lake”. Ai-Kul is a large alpine lake located on the territory of the Sarkent National Park in the Batken region.
The lake area is 0.82 square km. To see it, you need to go a long way, rising to a height of about 3000 m.
The lake shores surrounded by sheer cliffs, which cannot be risen, so you can only see it through small passes in the spurs.
In the Ai Kul tributaries two flow-stream. The water level rises in the summer and falls in the winter, and the lake is covered with ice.
Ai Kul Lake is a real treasure, hidden in the highlands, which fascinates and captivates with its beauty and inaccessibility.
