Itinerary
Day 1. Arrival Bishkek

We will pick you up at the airport/border point and drop you off at the comfortable hotel where you can have a rest.

After rest and breakfast, the visit of the city Bishkek is planned. We will visit sights such as the central square Ala-Too with its monuments and Oak Park.

After lunch at the local restaurant, we visit the famous market, Osh bazar. Just as you step the market, you plunge into the real oriental atmosphere: an interminable stream of people, a big variety of goods and colors.

Dinner in the traditional restaurant where you can taste the national Kyrgyz cuisine.

Day 2. Bishkek – Toktogul

Breakfast in the hotel. Departure.

At the beginning of our trip, we have to overcome two mountain passes Too Ashuu and Alabel.

We cross the wonderful Suusamyr valley, a paradise for nomads and their cattle.

Our way goes to Toktogul town, where we find the largest reservoir of Kyrgyzstan.

Lunch on the road in the café.

We can have a walk at the shore of an artificial lake and enjoy the fascinating sceneries around us.

Day 3. Toktogul – Arslanbob

After breakfast, we will continue the trip towards Arslanbob, the unique walnut-fruit forest in the world.

During the transfer, you can appreciate the breathtaking landscapes and take pictures. You ride along the largest and the most important river in Kyrgyzstan – Naryn.

On the road, we will stop to have lunch.

In the evening we get the small village Arslanbob surrounded by walnut forest.

Overnight and dinner in the guesthouse.

Day 4. Arslanbob – Uzgen – Osh

Breakfast in the guesthouse.

Driving toward Osh city via Uzgen town. In Uzgen you can visit the ancient mausoleum and tower. This city was the capital of Karakhanid state in the XI-XII century.

You cross Fergana valley with its endless fields. This valley is the most important producer of agriculture products.

You get Osh city. You can visit the famous holy mountain “Sulaiman Too” and the local markets.

Day 5. Osh – Base camp of Lenin Peak

We are going over Chiirchik and Taldyk passes along the Great Pamir Highway towards the village Sary Tash.

Further, the road runs through the Alai valley to the village of Kashkas, near which there is a bridge over the Kyzyl Suu River, a crossing on which completes the “asphalt” part of the journey.

The wide Alai valley and almost 2 hours off-road driving lead travelers to the Base Camp of Lenin Peak (7134m).

Day 6. Lenin Peak – Murgab

In the morning we drive to the border point Kyzyl Art with Tajikistan.

Trip to Murgab (135 km) through the Ak Baytal Pass (4 655 m), the highest section of the road in the former USSR. Here the terrain becomes barren and rocky. This region is the dwelling place of ethnic Kyrgyz.

Murgab is located in a valley at an altitude of about 3000 m above the sea level and surrounded by high peaks. The night sky has the best view of the Milky Way ever-imaginable.

Day 7. Murgab – Langar

It will be a long day since our trip will be towards Bulunkul Lake and by the end of the day, you will arrive at the Vakhan Valley. The drive to the Bulunkul Lake will be through the picturesque Alichur valley.

The village of Bulunkul is a small settlement on the banks of Bulunkul and Yashilkul lakes and consists of only a few families. A lunch with a local family after one hour of the trek to the shore of Lake Yashilkul. Return to the main road to reach Langar (126 km) along the Khargush Pass 4,344 m.

When we enter the Wakhan corridor, there will be amazing views to the Pamirs on the right and to the Hindu-Kush on the left.  As we will be driving by the Afghan border you will have a chance to see the Afghan settlements. The view is severe and deserted.

Day 8. Langar – Khorog

After breakfast, we will head towards the Ishkashim, which stands at the mouth of the Wakhan River. It is a historical place wherein the 19th century the British and Russian Empires signed an agreement on adding a strip of the Wakhan valley to Afghanistan and creating a neutral buffer zone between the two empires.

We continue the way towards Khorog (130 km) – the center of the Gorny Badakhshan region.

On the way, we will see the hot springs.

Day 9. Khorog – Khalaikum

A day-long ride (240 km) to Khalaikum, a small village on the Pamir Highway. Our road lies along the Afghan border, where we can stop on the way to make memorable photos of Afghans.

Arrival at the village. Dinner and overnight in the hotel.

Day 10. Khalaikum – Dushanbe

Today, the whole day will pass on the road, driving from Khalaikum to the capital of Tajikistan.

We will drive via Kulob and Dangara cities. The beautiful landscape and view of snow peaks and several passes will not leave indifferent.

Stop on the way in Khulbuk fort, Nurek water reservoir and in some villages to introduce with local life.

Day 11. Dushanbe

Breakfast in the hotel.

Full day in Dushanbe: visit of Rudaki Square, Ismail Somoni Monument, and Friendship Palace.

Anyone who is interested in archeology may visit the Museum of National Antiquities. Exhibits in this museum are mainly from pre-Islamic civilizations of Tajikistan (Greek / Bactrian, Buddhist, Hindu, and Zoroastrian).

The central element is the 14-meter reclining Buddha in Nirvana. After the tragic destruction of the Bamiyan statues in Afghanistan, this is the largest preserved Buddha statue in Central Asia.
