3-day Tour To Son Kul Lake

We pick you up at the meeting point at 9:00 am. The beautiful mountain roads lead us to Son
Kul Lake.

On the way, we stop in the village of Kochkor, where we visit a guesthouse that hosts a
women’s artisan cooperative. Here, Kyrgyz craftswomen will demonstrate how they make
traditional felt carpets (shyrdaks) from sheep’s wool — an important part of Kyrgyz culture
(option).

We continue our trip towards the lake. We overcome the mountain pass Kalmak Ashu (3400).
From the top, the lake appears tiny in the vast landscape — but as we descend, it reveals itself
as a vast and breathtaking alpine lake.

Upon arrival at a camp at the lake, you get to know the hospitality of the nomads and their
lifestyle. Dinner and night in the yurts.

Breakfast in the yurts.

After breakfast you will do a light hiking to the surrounding hill where the beautiful panoramic view opens in front of you (2 hours). In the meadows local nomads graze herds of sheep and horses. The smiles of local people, the aroma and taste of freshly baked bread will leave you with pleasant and unforgettable impressions.

Lunch in the yurts. After lunch, enjoy some free time to explore the lake and take photos of the beautiful landscapes.

Dinner and night in the yurts.

After breakfast, we return to Bishkek.

Along the way, we stop in Kyzyl Oy, a mountain village located at an altitude of about 1800. Here you can take a picture of extraordinary landscapes of majestic mountains surrounding it. Lunch in the guesthouse.

The road to Bishkek passes through the Suusamyr valley and the Too Ashuu pass. From the mountain pass, there is a clear view over the whole valley with green grass and yurt camps.

We will return to civilization by descending from the pass and passing along one of the most important roads in the country.

We will drop you off at the same meeting point as on Day 1. End of services.
