Itinerary
Day 1. Arrival – Bishkek (ca. 30 km, 40 min)

Arrival to Manas Airport in Bishkek where our team will pick you up and drive you to the capital. Standard check-in at hotel after 14:00.

You pick up the car from the office (open from 09:00 a.m.) and start your self-drive tour. You can visit the heart of the city, Ala- Too Square. After you can enjoy a walk in the Oak Park, one of the favorite places of local people. Bishkek is known as the greenest city in Central Asia thanks to its countless parks and alleys making the city a great place to live.

After lunch, you will have time to visit the local market Osh bazar. Here you can appreciate the creativity and talent of local artisans. Just as you step the market, you plunge into the real oriental atmosphere: an interminable stream of people, a big variety of goods and colors.

Note: it is highly recommended to book an extra night at the hotel, as most flights to Bishkek arrive late at night or early in the morning.

Day 2. Bishkek – Kyzyl Oy (ca. 200 km, 5h)

Breakfast in the hotel.

At the beginning of your journey, you will have to overcome the mountain pass Too Ashu. You cross the wonderful Suusamyr valley, a paradise for nomads.

Later you change the highway to the off-road. Your road will run along the Kokemeren river.

You get Kyzyl Oy, a mountain village located at an altitude of about 1800. Here you can take a picture of extraordinary landscapes of majestic mountains surrounding it.

Day 3. Kyzyl Oy – Son Kul (ca. 180 km, 4h)

A winding mountain serpentine leads you to the gorge. You cross the pass and the coalmine Kara Keche to reach Son Kul lake at 3016 meters. The lake is surrounded by green meadows, long used by nomads for grazing their animals.

When you arrive at the yurt camp in Son Kul, you can appreciate the hospitality of the nomads and get to know their lifestyle.

Day 4. Son Kul – Tash Rabat (ca. 260 km, 4h)

After breakfast in the yurt, you continue your trip towards the caravanserai Tash Rabat, so you overcome a mountain pass called Moldo Ashu at 3400 meters above sea level.

Tash Rabat is a historical monument founded by monks in the 10th century. During the Silk Road, Tash Rabat lost its religious significance, and the monastery provided a stay for caravans and travelers.

Day 5. Tash Rabat – Eki Naryn – Kochkor (ca. 310 km, 5h)

After breakfast in the yurt camp, you drive towards Eki Naryn, 45 km east of the city of Naryn, at an altitude of about 2250 m.

On the way to this place, you can see the confluence of two rivers, the Big and Small Naryn. The most beautiful place, where the cleanest air, a lot of greenery, forest and mountains.

Then you go to Kochkor village. Enjoy beautiful landscapes while driving.

Upon arrival, you can take a shower and relax at the guesthouse.

Day 6. Kochkor – Bokonbaevo – Skazka – Tamga (ca. 170 km, 3h)

After breakfast, you go towards the biggest lake in the country Issyk Kul, the pearl of Kyrgyzstan. You go by the south shore of the lake.

Along the way, in Bokonbaevo you can meet an eagle hunter with his bird of prey (option). Eagle hunting is one of the ancient traditions of nomads.

Later, you visit Skazka canyons, which translates from Russian as Fairytale. There you can find rocks of surprising shapes and sizes. A real skyscraper or an animal may appear in front of you. You can do short hiking in the canyons.

When you get Tamga, you can try a Russian sauna (option).

Day 7. Tamga – Jeti Oguz – Karakol (ca. 150 km, 3h)

After breakfast, you go towards Jeti Oguz gorge.

The name of the gorge is symbolic and means “seven bulls” in Kyrgyz because there are seven giant red-brown rocks resembling furious bulls standing together. You can take a walk here and enjoy the beautiful landscapes.

When you get to Karakol, you will visit its famous sights, such as the Russian Orthodox cathedral and Dungan mosque.

For dinner, you can order the typical dish of this region ¨ashlan fu¨, Dungan traditional cuisine.

Day 8. Karakol – Grigoriev and Semenov gorges – Chon Kemin (ca. 310 km, 5h)

After breakfast, you go towards Grigoriev and Semenov gorge.

They are located on the northern shore of Issyk Kul Lake. These places are considered the most famous attractions in the Issyk Kul region. You can take a walk and enjoy the wild nature around you.

Then you head to the Tar Suu village located in Chon Kemin Valley, known for its beauty and the rich diversity of animals and plants. You can go for a walk in the village to explore the lifestyle of the local people.

Day 9. Chon Kemin – Burana – Bishkek (ca. 200 km, 3h)

Breakfast in the guesthouse.

Along the way, you can visit Burana, located about 80 km from the capital. The tower with funerary monuments, earthworks, remains of the castle, and three mausoleums – that’s all that last out of the ancient Balasagyn town founded by Karakhanids at the end of the ninth century.

When you arrive in Bishkek, you can visit the local market and buy some souvenirs.

At 17:00 in the office you return the car.

Day 10. Bishkek – Airport – Departure (ca. 30 km, 40 min)
