Itinerary

Day 1. Arrival – Bishkek

Arrival to Manas Airport in Bishkek. Transfer to the capital. Standard check-in at hotel after 14:00. Today, you will have the day to yourself to explore the city.

You can visit the heart of the city, Ala- Too Square. After you can enjoy a walk in the Oak Park,
one of the favorite places of local people. Bishkek is known as the greenest city in Central Asia
thanks to its countless parks and alleys making the city a great place to live.
After lunch, you will have time to visit the local market Osh bazar. Here you can appreciate the
creativity and talent of local artisans. Just as you step the market, you plunge into the real
oriental atmosphere: an interminable stream of people, a big variety of goods and colors.

Note: it is highly recommended to book an extra night at the hotel, as most flights to Bishkek arrive late at night or early in the morning. Early check-in is not included.

Day 2. Bishkek – Burana – Chon Kemin

Breakfast in the hotel. You pick up the car from the office (open from 09:00 a.m.) and start your
self-drive tour.
You will move to explore eastern part of Kyrgyzstan and your first
destination is Chon Kemin valley.
On route to the gorge you will visit Burana Tower (an 11th century minaret) and an open air
museum of Balbals (stone warriors). After an interesting excursion is transfer to Chon Kemin
gorge.
Upon your arrival in Chon Kemin you will be able to discover the untouched natural beauty of
the valley.
Chon Kemin is a beautiful place for the travelers. You will stay in the comfortable guesthouse at
the altitude of 1500 meters. You can also explore more about the lifestyle of the local people.
Dinner and overnight in the guesthouse.

Day 3. Chon Kemin – Semenovskoe gorge – Karakol

Breakfast at the guesthouse.
Then you drive towards Issyk Kol lake, the pearl of Kyrgyzstan.
On the way you turn to the Semenov gorge. It is located on the northern shore of Issyk Kol
Lake, 60 kilometers from Cholpon Ata. This place is considered as the most famous attractions
in the Issyk Kol region. You can walk and enjoy the wild nature around you.
You continue your way to Karakol. The main settlement of the Issyk Kol region of Kyrgyzstan is
the Karakol town. Not far from the city, at a distance of only 12 km, the Lake Issyk Kol is. Only a
little more than 65 thousand people live in the city. The climatic features of this area are
unique. In the summer season, you can often find tourists hiking in various directions. In winter
here come lovers of skiing.
You arrive late in Karakol.

Day 4. Karakol – Jety Oguz – Barskoon – Tosor village
Day 4. Karakol – Jety Oguz – Barskoon – Tosor village

After breakfast, you will visit famous sights of Karakol city – Dungan Mosque and Orthodoxe
Church.
Then you continue your way along the south shore of the Issyk Kul lake to explore and have
many picturesque places to visit. You can see how fast the landscape changes.
You begin with the visit of Jeti Oguz gorge.
The name of the gorge is symbolic and means “seven bulls” in Kyrgyz because there are seven
giant red-brown rocks resembling furious bulls standing together. You can take a walk here and
enjoy the beautiful landscapes. You will pass time in the gorge until lunch-time.
The path leading to Barskoon Gorge opens up interesting and even amusing monuments for
travelers. It is interesting to see the bust of Yuriy Gagarin, located nearby. The great astronaut
and discoverer of space distances once came to rest in Issyk Kol, already on his return from the
legendary flight.
A real attraction of the gorge are the waterfalls, which have enchanting and very poetic names,
such as Tears of Leopard and jet of Champagne.
You arrive in Tosor village where you stop for night.

Day 5. Tosor village – Skazka – Kochkor

After breakfast you continue your way along the south shore of the Issyk Kul lake.
You begin with the visit of Skazka canyon. The southern coast of the magnificent Issyk Kul
Lake is famous for its unusual, mysterious point on the map of Kyrgyzstan, the Skazka Canyon,
located 4 km from the Tosor settlement. This local landmark got its name because of the
winding and amazing mountain landscape. For many years, the wind-sculpted bizarre figures
from the rocks, similar to the sculptures of mythical, fairy-tale heroes, which now so fascinate
travelers.
By the evening you arrive in Kochkor village to stay for night.

Day 6. Kochkor – Eki Naryn – Naryn

After breakfast at the guesthouse, you drive towards Eki Naryn, 45 km east of the city of Naryn,
at an altitude of about 2250 m.
On the way to this place, you can see the confluence of two rivers, the Big and Small Naryn. The
most beautiful place, where the cleanest air, a lot of greenery, forest and mountains.
Then you go to Naryn town. Enjoy beautiful landscapes while driving.
Upon arrival, you can take a shower and relax at the hotel.

Day 7. Naryn – Kelsuu Lake

Breakfast at the hotel.
Then you move in the direction of Kelsuu lake.
You drive in direction of the border with China where the valley of Aksay extends.
When you arrive at the yurt camp, you enjoy the wild nature of this place and maybe you will
have chance to see the yaks.

Day 8. Kelsuu lake (Free day)

Today you will visit one of the most beautiful lakes in the country – Kelsuu Lake (3514m).
It takes about 2-hours of walking to reach this place.
Kel-Suu is an alpine lake of glacial origin, considered as one of the most beautiful mountain
lakes in Kyrgyzstan. Located in an inaccessible area in the western part of the Kokshaal-Too
mountains, near the border with China at an altitude of 3500 meters.
The lake is remarkable for its magnificent views – the water is bright blue and contrasts very
well with the surrounding rocks. It is one of the most beautiful and inaccessible places in
Kyrgyzstan.

Day 9. Kelsuu – Tash Rabat

After breakfast in the yurt, you leave this amazing place and drive in the direction of China
border where the famous caravan-saray Tash Rabat is located. This building is built of stone and
mortar, and all the material was assembled here in the valley.
There are several theories and legends about the origin of the architectural complex, but most
likely it was built in the XV century and served as a coaching inn for merchants, passing along
the trade route is within reach. Height of Tash Rabat is more than 20 meters, and inside is a
maze of connecting the 31 room. Against the backdrop of green meadows of the valley,
published a caravanserai looks like a powerful and unapproachable fortress.
Then you will visit Tash Rabat and count the number of rooms.
Then you can climb to the hill to take a panorama view of the valley.

Day 10. Tash Rabat – MELS pass – Son Kol

Breakfast in the yurt.
You drive in the direction of another beautiful place via MELS pass (3420 m) – the Son Kol lake,
where silence and peace reign.
Son Kol lake is the second largest lake in Kyrgyzstan, with an area of 278 square kilometers. It is
situated in a valley between two mountain ranges at an altitude of 3016 m.
The depth of the Son-Kol lake reaches 14 m. The lake is inhabited by 10 species of fish, and on
its banks, you can see up to 70 species of birds, including waterfowl.
Water of Son-Kol is extremely transparent, and it should be noted that it can change its color –
from blue sky on a clear day, to purple on a cloudy day.
Upon arrival at a camp at the lake, get to know the hospitality of the nomads, their lifestyle and
their customs.

Day 11. Son Kol (Free day)

Breakfast in the yurt. You have free day to discover Son Kol.
Son Kol lake is the second largest lake in Kyrgyzstan, with an area of 278 square kilometers. It is
situated in a valley between two mountain ranges at an altitude of 3016 m.
The depth of the Son- Kol lake reaches 14 m. The lake is inhabited by 10 species of fish, and on
its banks, you can see up to 70 species of birds, including waterfowl.
You can appreciate the hospitality of the nomads and get to know their lifestyle.
You can hike to the nearest mountain to catch a fantastic view on the whole valley and lake.

Day 12. Son Kol – Kyzyl Oy

Breakfast in the yurt.
You have free time until lunch.
After lunch you take your way to Kyzyl Oy village, a mountain village located at an altitude of
about 1800m. Here you can take a picture of extraordinary landscapes of majestic mountains
surrounding it.

Note: Guesthouses in this area are simple and have a shared bathroom and toilet.

Day 13. Kyzyl Oy – Bishkek
Day 13. Kyzyl Oy – Bishkek

Breakfast at the guesthouse. You drive along the Kokemeren river. Later you change the the
off-road to highway. You go in the direction of Too Ashuu mountain pass (3586m).
You cross the wonderful Suusamyr valley (2200m), a paradise for nomads.
You arrive in Bishkek in the afternoon.
Today you return the car until 18:00.

Day 14. Bishkek – Airport – Departure

Transfer to the airport. Departure.
