Arslanbob is located in the Jalal-Abad region and is the largest walnut forest in the world. It is located at an altitude of 1600 meters and has an area of 600,000 hectares. In addition to walnuts, about 130 plant species grow here: apples, pistachios, cherry plums, pears, almonds and others. Arslanbob originated in distant antiquity, there are assumptions that it is more than 50 million years old. Every year up to 1,500 tons of nuts and 5,000 tons of apples, pistachios and cherry plums are harvested here. There is a legend that once Alexander the Great himself took the fruit of a nut to Greece, from where it got its name – walnut.
