In the east, the Alai Valley, at an altitude of 3150 m above sea level, is the village Sary-Tash. The population of village is just over 1,5 thousand peoples. Sary-Tash is located close to the border with China and Tadzhikistan. Across this locality passes an important motor road Pamir Tract connecting the city of Osh to Khorog and Dushanbe. To the north of Sary-Tash located Taldyk pass (3615 m) to the south Kyzyl-Art Pass (4250 m).
Another important transport artery, passing through the village of Sary-Tash, is a European route E60 to the end point in the village Irkeshtam.
