Orto-Tokoy reservoir

Orto-Tokoy reservoir - this is the first reservoir built in Kyrgyzstan in 1956. It is located on the Chu River, outside the village of Kochkor. Its length is about 18 km, and the volume - more than 4.7 billion cubic meters.

The main task of the reservoir - irrigation of agricultural land in Chui oblast and southern Kazakhstan.

The water surface impresses with its vast expanses and tranquility, while in different places water changes its color: somewhere in soft blue, emerald green somewhere and somewhere almost black.

Breathtaking views of the reservoir and gives a frame of gray-brown mountains surrounding it.
