Chon-Kyzyl-Suu

Chon-Kyzyl-Suu is located 60 kilometers west from the town of Karakol. Its name, "big red water" was received because the bottom of the canyon flowing water in the mountain river seems red.

The reason for this phenomenon - the land of red clay, coloring the water. The length of the canyon is about 40 km. On the slopes of the gorge are located picturesque green meadows. Above 2000 m grows fir forest, where a lot of mushrooms and berries grow as well.
The animals in the forests of the gorge Chon-Kyzyl-Suu, you can see wild boar, partridge, roe deer, pheasants and marmots.

In the valley of the right tributary of the river, Dzhyly-Suu, there are hot springs hydrogen sulfide, the temperature of water in which 43 degrees Celsius.

In the upper part of the gorge are the passes «50 years of Kyrgyzstan» (4600 m), Ulyanovsk (4490 m), Hadeghda (4450 m), Zagadka (4400 m), Ashu-Tor (3900 m), through then you can get to the glacier Kolpakovsky - one of the the largest in the Terskey Ala-Too.
